I’m Chelsie, the founder and writer behind Hey There, Chelsie, a blog about beauty, style and the pursuit of a vibrant life. I’m a native New Englander (who grew up just 45 minutes outside of Boston) and currently live just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. I’m a wife to Dustin and fur mama to our golden retriever, Rosie Roo and our golden-doodle, Teddy.
After having a rather early mid-life crisis where I realized that I didn’t want to pursue a career in my degree field of English education, I started blogging. Formerly known as Life with Rosie and founded in February of 2015, Hey There, Chelsie has evolved into an online space of hope and encouragement to live bold lives.
After a year-long battle with pediatric cancer, I struggled for years to overcome the emotional and physical scars it left me with. I am trying to break free of cancer’s shadow by learning to love my body, despite my scars and imperfections. I find that by taking the time to curate a cute outfit or put on some makeup that I am slowly learning to love and appreciate my body and myself again. It hasn’t happened overnight, but I’m learning to love my life all over again, taking it back from cancer and learning that I shouldn’t be afraid of pursuing my new-found dream of blogging full-time.
Here at Hey There, Chelsie, I encourage women to pursue a vibrant life, despite their scars or past.
Living a vibrant life can mean many things, and for me, living a vibrant life starts with myself. I’m learning to wear the bright red lipstick because I want to or to put on leggings despite what other people think about them. I’m learning to balance my life between grand adventures and the small, quiet moments watching Netflix. My goal here isn’t to sway you towards living a vain and selfish life. It’s to inspire, encourage and motivate you to take control of your life by finding peace with yourself and filling it with things you love. Above all else, I want you to know you are stronger than your scars, that it’s OKAY to love yourself, and that you can use that love to power your blogging dreams.
