Looking for some outfit inspiration for Thanksgiving Weekend? Here are 3 Affordable and Trendy outfit ideas for your Thanksgiving Holiday!
So. It’s Thanksgiving next week. Anyone else flipping out a little bit? Like HOW is it THANKSGIVING?! I feel like I’ve been so preoccupied with all the big life changes I’ve made recently that I’ve barely had time to focus on anything past Tuesday, so I feel a little surprised (and shell-shocked) that turkey time is literally just over a week away.
That being said, I’m FULL ON READY for Thanksgiving weekend (AKA, the best weekend of the year, since Christmas doesn’t always fall on a weekend.) I define my Thanksgiving weekend with three words: Turkey. Shopping. Christmas. I mean, are there any other words that describe Thanksgiving Weekend better than those three? Hm?
Today, I am so excited to be teaming up with my FAVORITE boutique (and my new employer) My Sister’s Closet, to share three affordable and trendy outfit ideas for Thanksgiving Weekend. I know that this holiday can be stressful with the food and the family and the sudden panic of having to shop for Christmas presents, but I’ve found that having a cute outfit to wear for every day helps me feel confident and excited to take on the craziness of the holidays. It’s amazing what a sassy little dress or comfy top can do to boost your attitude, am I right?
Thanksgiving Day Outfit
The first year I hosted Thanksgiving, I ended up making it to the dinner table with a giant sweater with a hole in the armpit and flour in my hair. Even though I had pulled off the dinner of my life (I was hosting it for 13 people) I felt completely distracted by how disheveled I was and couldn’t enjoy the fruits of my labor. I made it a goal after that year to make sure I always had a cute outfit planned and prepared so I could show up to the dinner table feeling confident and ready to focus on spending time with my family and friends.
This year, I will be rocking this ADORABLE orange jumper dress from My Sister’s Closet, paired with their black and white striped mock turtleneck top. This dress gives off a fun 50’s vibe with the big pockets on the skirt and I love the button detail on the straps. It’s also the perfect rust color, which is definitely the Thanksgiving color of the year this year (am I right or am I right?) This dress is also SUPER flattering because of the way the top meets the skirt, so it will effectually hide my food baby and still make me look slim. Also, this mock turtleneck top has the cutest scalloped detail on the sleeves and neck so it really adds to the overall detail and texture of this outfit!
Black Friday Shopping Outfit
Some people don’t like Black Friday shopping, but it’s become a tradition for me and my sisters to go out right after Thanksgiving Dinner and grab some doorbusters before heading back home for dessert, online shopping, and gearing up for some early Friday morning shopping the next day. Yes, we are THOSE people who make a plan of attack with Black Friday ads and get all our Christmas shopping done in the span of 24 hours and save a ton of money doing it (sorry, not sorry!)
It’s important to be dressed in comfortable clothes so we can stay out as long as necessary (and stand in line for those best deals) and that’s why I LOVE this long-sleeved top from MSC with the cutest ruffle sleeve and peplum detail. The material is super soft and cozy and the peplum cut gives the top such great movement. I paired it with this red vest (also from My Sister’s Closet) so that I’d have some extra warmth for standing outside in those lines. I love that it brings out the red from the floral pattern in the peplum and sleeves and gives it an extra pop of color.
Speaking of Black Friday & My Sister’s Closet…I gotta tell you that they have the most amazing Black Friday weekend planned. They have a special event/sale happening Friday, Saturday AND Monday and their doorbusters on Friday are going to blow your mind. If you live in Utah and have sisters or mothers or wives to shop for, make sure you swing by because they will have some really great items for stockings and for under the tree with prices that will literally have your jaw on the floor. If you don’t live in Utah, don’t fret. They will be having an online sale as well (on the ENTIRE site) starting at 7 PM on Thanksgiving night. I know I’ll have my cart filled up and ready to go because things WILL sell out fast.
Christmas Decorating Outfit
Once I’m shopped out from Black Friday, we spend all day Saturday getting the rest of our Christmas Decorations out from storage and putting them up. (Dustin and I have a deal where I can decorate the front living room after Halloween, but everything else has to wait until after Thanksgiving.) Dustin spends the morning hanging the lights on the outside of the house and I spend the afternoon watching Hallmark Christmas movies while decorating the tree and eating Trader Joe’s Pfeffernusse German Spice Cookies (10/10 would recommend.)
I want to be comfortable, but still festive during Christmas Saturday, so I always wear leggings with a nicer top. I am a HUGE fangirl of this cream lace top from My Sister’s Closet. It’s completely lined and has the prettiest details in the sleeves and hem. The lace feels really delicate and fancy (and does NOT look like a tablecloth, which lace can sometimes do.) I paired this with a bright red headband and my cozy slippers for the perfect look, but could totally dress this top up with jeans and heels for a casual Christmas party. It is SO versatile.
I hope this post gives you some Thanksgiving Weekend outfit inspiration for the coming week. I know that it can be so easy to get stressed out and tightly wound during this holiday weekend, so make sure you have some time set aside for yourself. Get dressed up. Put on some lipstick. Treat yourself to a dress from MSC during Black Friday. YOU deserve the very best, most vibrant holiday in the world.
