TJ Maxx Finds | April 2019
Over the last year, I’ve developed a deep, deep love and obsession for TJ Maxx and all the magical things you can find there. It started with a trip to one when I was home last summer for Beach Week. I popped into the local TJ Maxx to look for some flip flops because mine had broken the second day we had arrived at the ocean. As I wandered towards the shoes, I got distracted by the beauty aisle where a familiar logo caught my eye – Anastasia Beverly Hills. I took a sharp right to go investigate and before I knew it, I was sitting on the ground, sifting through the beauty bins. I couldn’t believe it – SO many brands that I spent big dollars on in Ulta and Sephora were available to me at super discounted prices!
Thus, the obsession began and now one of my all time favorite pass times is to go to TJ Maxx and wander around and see what deals and brands I can find for a discounted price. I’ve spent time in ALL the isles and have found deals on brands like Free People, Paige Denim, Too Faced, Becca Cosmetics, Marc Jacobs, Clinique, Redkin, Chi, Dr. Scholls, Sam Edelman, and more. I always give a behind the scenes sneak peek to my shopping trips there on Instagram Stories, but I figured it would be fun to sit down and share last month’s haul and all of the amazing deals I found.
I collected all of these products throughout March at several different TJ Maxx’s and over a couple of weeks. (Told you, I go there pretty frequently and one of my favorite ones is right next to Trader Joe’s, so I always swing in there!) When I totaled up all of the money I spent on these trips, it came out to $113.00 – which is AWESOME when you look at everything I got!
TJ MAXX Finds | April 2019
TJ MAXX Clothing Finds:
Pullover – $14.99 – I was looking for an activewear pullover that could read more streetwear/not so grubby. You know – a pullover I could wear with leggings and sneakers while running errands on a Saturday but also something I could wear with jeans or joggers to make it a little more appropriate for a lunch date. I lovelovelove this one I found because it has a more fitted shape to it instead of being super oversized and boxy. It also has a really cute overlapping detail around the bottom of the sweatshirt which takes it to a level above a plain pullover. It’s a white/cream color with grey heathering and it’s made out of a more jersey type material so it’s a little lighter and will transition into spring well. Oh and the price is bomb.
Dinosaur Crop Top – $7.99 – I’ve been looking for a few tops that are a bit more cropped (but not like, belly dancer cropped) to pair with my high-waisted jeans from My Sister’s Closet. Since they have such a fun button fly detail and sit so high up on my waist, crops are a fun way to show them off! I’m currently on a dinosaur kick since I got my new car and named it Blue after the Raptor from Jurassic World, so this was a no brainer to me, especially at the price. Plus, my nieces and nephews got a kick out if when I wore it in California a couple weekends ago!
Red Floral Wrap Top ($12.99) – I bought this right after Utah got hit with another round of snow and was so, so happy to see some bright and vibrant spring colors coming out even though it was still dismally winter outside. I love that this top is a faux wrap top, so no awkward wrinkles or gaping and the peplum hits my longer torso at just the right spot to not make me look dumpy!
Denim Jacket ($19.99) – This denim jacket is BY FAR my favorite TJ MAXX find of the year (so far.) I have worn it at least 2-3 times a week and love everything about it. I love that it has some distressed details without it looking like a tattered rag. I like that it’s a crop fit but still fits my proportions well. And, it’s a very comfortable jacket and easy to move in. My very first denim jacket was stiff as getout and I hated how scratchy it felt on my skin. But this one? Serious butter.
TJ MAXX Food Finds:
Okay, I used to think that the food at TJ Maxx must be super old, super expired, and super strange, but as I wandered down the snack aisle a few weeks ago, I found myself recognizing some of my favorite brands and a lot of fun and exciting healthy snack options. I decided to take a chance and pick up just a couple things and found myself DELIGHTFULLY surprised at how great everything was. Not stale, not old, and very delicious!
Everything Seasoning for Bagels ($2.99) – No, not to be confused with the cult classic Trader Joe’s Everything But the Bagel seasoning, but when I saw it for $2.99, I decided I had to grab it and see if it was a dupe. Spoiler Alert: Yes. Yes it is. This is awesome for my friends who don’t live close to a Trader Joe’s but want to get their hands on it. You can see if your TJ MAXX is carrying this because it’s basically the exact same and a bit cheaper!
Heavenly Hunks Oatmeal Chocolate Chip ($3.99) – So, we actually have tried these before at Costco and bought a GIANT bag and went through it in the span of two days. When we went back to get some more, Costco had sold out and we haven’t seen them since. I basically squealed with excitement when I was in TJ MAXX and saw that they had these and grabbed them without thinking twice. They. Are. Delicious. 10/10 would recommend.
Bare Baked Ranch Carrot Chips ($2.99) – I am all about veggie chips and love making my own version of carrot chips when I have the time/will power. I never thought about trying them with ranch before, so I decided to grab these and see how they were. They aren’t my absolute favorite, but I did eat the whole bag in a day and enjoyed trying them out. They are very zesty, for sure!
TJ MAXX Beauty Finds:
Buxom Matte & Bold Gel Lipstick in White Russian ($5.99) – I know for a fact that you can buy this exact same lipstick at Ulta RIGHT NOW for a whopping $22.00. Yep. You read that right. I love Buxom Lipsticks and glosses and the shade White Russian is one of my favorite gloss colors of all time, so being able to grab it in lipstick formula for under 7 bucks? Done deal.
Real Techniques Sponge Set ($5.99) – You. Guys. A two pack of these run for $10.99 at Ulta. NOT EVEN KIDDING! So to be able to grab a four pack at half that cost? DONE DEAL! These are also some of my favorite beauty sponges on the market because they are significantly more affordable than the beauty blender, even at full price.
TJ MAXX Lifestyle Finds
Baublebar Earrings ($12.99) – These were actually from a holiday set that was on clearance and was such a fun find. I am still on the Druzy trend and I know that Baublebar can be a little pricey (even their Sugarfix line at Target can get a little up there!)
Blender Bottle ($5.99) I have been wanting a new blender bottle for my preworkout for MONTHS because the one I currently use always gets stuck and is super hard for me to open. I usually have to pull so hard on the cap that my bright blue pre-workout spills everywhere by the sheer force of opening it all! This one is a lot easier to open and it’s bigger then the one I currently use!
Magic White Shampoo – $6.99 – I love my doodle. You guys love my doodle. He is the sweetest, snuggliest bug in the whole world. He’s also white and almost always tinged some shade of brown or yellow because white dogs are impossible to keep clean. My groomer uses a similar white shampoo on him and he comes back GLOWING so I HAD to grab this when I saw it. I haven’t used it yet, so I can’t speak to the effectiveness of it, but for the price it was worth a shot.
Rae Dunn Happy Candle ($7.99) – I love this brand (they make all kinds of cute kitchenware with cute sayings on it) and the closest TJ MAXX to me has been carrying a TON of it lately. I decided to snag this super cute candle because 1. it smelled amazing and 2. it’s something I can reuse when I’ve burned the candle out!
I honestly can’t wait to go back to TJ Maxx now that we’re moving into a new home – I want to redecorate several of our spaces and know I’ll find the best (and most unique) things there!
What was your favorite piece from my haul?
