3 Ways to Style your Inner Harry Potter Nerd
A product was given to me in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own!
I was supposed to finally go to Hogwarts last week, but alas, a hurricane blew through Florida the day we were supposed to leave and we decided to push back our trip just to be on the safe side. After all the crazy flooding we experienced here, we decided we didn’t want to risk driving through more rain. To be quite honest, I’ve had enough rain to last me another 3 years and I was content to stay home for few extra days and wait for the storm to pass if it meant dry travels.
Anywho, Dustin and I will be heading out later this week to fulfill my childhood dream of exploring Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, buying a wand and doing a little bit of magic! Yep, we’re going to Universal Studios in Orlando to celebrate a successful summer and my remission anniversary. I could go on and on about why Harry Potter is so important to me, but I think I’ll save that for a separate blog post because there is a lot to it. For now, just know that Harry Potter saved my life in a lot of ways and the fact that I’m finally going to be able to have a Butterbeer later this week brings tears to my eyes. I’m so excited. I’m SO excited!
Harry Potter has been such a huge part of my childhood and my life and continues to be important to me now, even in my mid-twenties. I’m always looking for subtle ways to express my inner Harry Potter nerd in my style choices because I’m not ashamed to be a #potterhead! Today, I wanted to share three ways I bring my love for HP into my style because I know there are may of my friends out there who feel the same way I do about the Boy who Lived!
Graphic Tees
I’m really thrilled that graphic tees have become such a huge trend because I loveeee them and would wear them every day if it was socially acceptable. It’s such a fun way to share sayings/quotes/fandoms that I love right out there in the open and they can be styled in such a variety of ways!

I recently picked up this red v-neck from Kohl’s (which was on sale for SIX DOLLARS) that has one of my all-time favorite Harry Potter quotes scrawled across it: “I Solemnly Swear that I am Up to No Good.” Not only is this an iconic quote from the books, but it’s quirky and funny AND it really fits my personality because #imasassmonster.
Graphic tees like this are perfect for busy days filled with errands, so I styled this one with my go-to pair of black Lularoe Leggings and a jean jacket to transition this into fall. I paired this outfit with my converse-like sneakers that I just picked up on sale from Payless Shoesource for a whopping 18 bucks! Converse sneakers/casual outfits like these are super on-trend right now, and as classic as Converse are, I’m not going to drop 50-80 dollars on a pair of sneakers that aren’t for running. These look-alikes from Payless give the same vibes for a fraction of the price and are super comfortable. I’m not complaining. I really adore the casual and comfortable vibes that I get from this “street style” outfit and love that it looks put together, but effortless at the same time. Plus, I get to share my Harry Potter love in a trendy way!
What I’m Wearing:
Harry Potter “I Solemnly Swear that I am Up to No Good” Tee // Kohls (On Sale for $8.00 online!)
Leggings // LulaRoe
Jean Jacket // Unionbay via Amazon
Sneakers // Payless
Sunglasses // Elle via Kohls
Jewelry
I really love the Deathly Hallows symbol because it’s not an obvious Harry Potter sign, but those who love Harry Potter can immediately recognize it. So, I HAD TO HAVE this bracelet that I found on Amazon because of its delicate little charms (and also the price because it was under five dollars!) I love how stylish this bracelet is with the multiple leather straps because it pairs with a variety of outfits well and it gives several nods to HP, including the snitch beading and the Deathly Hallows symbol.
Phone Case
Am I the only one who loves to look at people’s phone cases? I feel like I can always tell a lot about a person by the type of case they have on their phone. Because of that, I always try to share a part of me with my own phone case.
I am OBSESSED with this summer case that I created with CaseApp. I worked with them last fall to create my Laptop Skin (which is by far one of my favorite details in my home office) and was thrilled when they reached out to me and asked if I would create a phone case. I IMMEDIATELY knew I wanted one that expressed my inner Harry Potter nerd! CaseApp makes it incredibly easy to create your phone case: you simply select the type of phone you have and can upload your own design or choose one of their pre-loaded designs. I did a mix of both: I choose their preloaded purple marble design and then uploaded my own Deathly Hallows artwork in their design studio to lay on top of it. After finalizing the design, they printed it on the phone case and sent it my way!
I have received SO many compliments on my phone case since I received it and it may be my favorite Harry Potter item yet! It’s the perfect mix of my personal style and nerdiness.
If you are in the market for a new phone case, make sure you check out CaseApp and use the code “SUMMERLIFE20” for 20% off your first order!
Now that I have shared my nerdy side, tell me, are you a #potterhead? What type of phone case would you create with CassApp?
