August Goals
I’ve gotta say, since I started putting my goals on my blog every month, I have become more motivated than I have been in my entire life to actually work towards and achieve my goals. Thanks for helping me hold myself accountable, friends!
I know I mentioned it before, but July was a pretty rough month. We were traveling or moving every weekend of it (church camp, family reunion, moving/traveling to Idaho, moving/traveling to NH). It was really hard for me to be focused and motivated on my blog at times without having a space to work at, or the time to just sit and think about it. I’m so glad to have some down time this month and only one more move to make in September before Dustin and I get to stay put for a while.
That being said, some of July’s goals got neglected, but I still feel pretty dang good about what I was able to accomplish with the craziness in between.
Blog/Instagram Followers to 1K-Success! I am currently sitting at 1.1K followers and loving it! I’m also learning how to get followers who truly want to interact with me and want to see what I’m posting; and learning how to reach them in ways that are exciting and new to them! (I’m 9 people away from 1.2K, so if you wanna follow me and make my day, you can do so here)
Blog/Read a Blog Book-Kind of success? I actually decided to enroll in a blogging class by one of my favorite fashion bloggers who is super super successful. Even though I’m not a 100% fashion blogger, a lot of what she has to teach is applicable to what I’m doing and I’ve learned SO much from her and I’m only half way through. It was definitely worth the investment.
Blog/Post 4 times a week-Also kind of a success-I think I was pretty consistent with posting considering how crazy my month was! Also, I have posts lined up for almost this whole month already from all the things I wanted to write about in July but just didn’t get to! Hooray for a full editorial calendar
Personal/Get a new hair style-In case you missed it on Instagram, I’m a blonde now! One of my best girlfriends Melissa (melissadeason.com) colored my hair for me when we were visiting her last week and although it’s taking me a little bit of time to get used to, I’m definitely loving the change. I may throw another toner on it later this month to combat the brassy coloring I get from the well water here in New England, but I think I’ll stay blonde for a while. It’s quite fun!
Read/5 Books-Total fail. I did get two done, but there was just no time to read this month. So bummed. However, beach week for my family is in two weeks and I know I will read so much then, I’m not worried!
Health/Bed by 11:00-Total fail. Have no excuses. I just stayed up too late with Jaclyn Hill and Kathleen Lights.
My August Goals are:
Blog/Finish Blogging Course: I’m a little behind in my blogging course from traveling, so I want to spend these next couple of weeks catching up and finishing it so I can start implementing the things I learn!
Blog/Affordable Fashion/Beauty: Thank you to all who took a moment and completed my reader survey (more on this later)! I was really excited to get your feedback and saw that a lot of you want more affordable fashion and beauty posts! I’m super excited to work on some of those topics for you this month and see how they go! If you have anything even more specific you want to see in those topics, leave a comment below!
Blog/Get 1K on FB and Twitter: Because my Instagram is my favorite, I’ve totally neglected my Twitter and FB and I would like to give them some more love since they’ve both been stuck around 700 Likes/follows for a couple of months. Time to work on that
Read/5 books: I brought 5 books with me to NH and I WILL finish them this month during beach week.
Personal/Sign Lease: Dustin and I still haven’t signed a lease for our apartment in AZ; although we think we finally found one. I want to have that signed and out of the way by next week so I won’t stress out anymore!
Health/Eat Breakfast Everyday: I’m the worst at breakfast, but my mama went out and got me bagels and eggs so I’m going to work on eating breakfast every day this month!
What are your goals this month? Any tips for me to achieve mine? Anyone read any great books this summer? What’s your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?
