Hey there, I’m Chelsie And it’s been a hot se Hey there, I’m Chelsie

And it’s been a hot second since I intentionally showed my face here and shared what the heck I try to do in the space. So hi. Here’s a little bit about me and HTC:

I’m a 14 year pediatric cancer survivor and now a 3 year infertility warrior. I’m not going to lie - it’s been a hard hand to be dealt. For years, I was convinced my body was broken and couldn’t be trusted. I didn’t give a crap about caring for it, dressing it, or loving it. That translated into zero self-confidence on every level in my life. I didn’t feel good about how I looked, how I physically felt, or what I had to offer the world. I just kind of skated by, showing up to a dead end job and then coming home and watching endless amounts of tv.

And then, one day, after getting sucked down the beauty YouTube rabbit hole, I ordered an eyeshadow palette and started learning how to put on makeup. When I was done and looked at myself in the mirror - I couldn’t see the cancer anymore. I just saw me, and the body that worked so hard to give me a second chance life. I didn’t want to waste another minute not living it fully.

The time I spent playing with makeup and putting together outfits healed my relationship with my body. Then, it transformed into trust. I trusted that it wouldn’t fall apart if I tried to get stronger. I trusted that it would show up for me if I went on an adventure. And then, I started trusting myself - that I could have dreams for my life and that I could achieve them. I proved to myself that I could live a vibrant life, despite my scars, despite my past, and despite what limitations others put on me.

My goal is to show up here and help you find and express your inner vibrance, and give you the confidence to live as vibrantly as possible. Sometimes, that journey starts with a little mascara or a new outfit. Other times, it means implementing strategies to help you tune out your inner critic and pursue whatever lights your soul on fire with confidence.

Wherever you are in your journey to living a vibrant life, I’m here, cheering you on.

Now, let me know - what do you want to see from HTC this year? Where can I help you?
Even though I really thought we would have had a b Even though I really thought we would have had a baby here by the time this holiday arrived, I’m grateful for the things I do have: a home, a job, an amazing husband, family, friends, food on the table, doggos, and my health (mostly.) I honestly couldn’t ask for more after this crazy year - and while I hope we have a baby here by Christmas 2021, I know that I’ll be okay if we have to wait longer. That is my Christmas miracle - hope and patience and peace.
Happy Christmas 🎄All my love to you.

I could answer it without taking even a second to think about it: When I’m in my Jeep, exploring the outdoors and conquering obstacles, surrounded by the people who I love most: my family. (There’s 6 Jeeps and counting between me and my three siblings. Whenever I’m on a trail, at least one of them is with me.)

Not when I’m working. Not when I am focusing on my side-businesses. Not when I am consumed by my daily life. I feel like my truest self when I have left that all behind. I feel like my truest self when I am behind the steering wheel of my rig, knowing that the most important people in my life are on the trail with me. I feel like my truest self when I am having fun, when I am feeling brave, and most importantly: when I am free.

What a profound discovery that’s been for me - that the titles, accomplishments, and material items I work hard for don’t actually help me feel like my truest self. While those are nice to have, it’s been a huge weight lifted off my shoulders to know that if they were all taken away from me tomorrow, I’d be okay. I would still know how to be me.

On Losing my Hair and Growing it Back

Even though I had gone through my first round of chemo, had dropped 20 pounds in a week and ended up back in the hospital for a hydration transfusion because my sodium levels had dropped drastically, it was still hard for me to believe I had cancer. Sure, I was a little skinnier and super pale, but anyone who saw me passing by wouldn't know about the war raging in my body and the six inch tumor I named Ricardo growing in my leg. I still looked like a regular 15 year old girl, granted a little bit of a rebel one, because of the bright red hair. I died my hair fire engine red the day after I was diagnosed. My "last hurrah" before it all came out, although it . . .

In and Out – February Edition

February is almost over! Here is a round up of all the things/products that were IN for me and the things that were most definitely OUT! IN: The Wet Hair Brush - Guys, this brush has changed EVERYTHING for my hair. My hair is probably the worst tangly mess every whenever I get out of the shower and I usually just take a giant paddle brush to it and wretch it through. I use the wet brush in the shower after putting in my conditioner and it just cuts through my hair like a knife through butter. The bristles are SUPER flexible so instead of getting caught in the tangles, they bend with it and slowly work the snarls through. Life saver. Unique 3D . . .

Drugstore Nail Polish Review

A few weeks back, I ran into a girl who had the coolest paint splattered nail polish on her nails. When I asked her where she got her nail polish, she said she had ordered it online and that is was 15 dollars for the bottle! I almost fell out of my chair. I love nail polish, but I don't love it for half a gas tank's worth of money. I thought to myself: "there has got to be a drugstore version of that style of nail polish." So, off I went to the store! All products were bought with my own money and these reviews are all my own honest opinions! As I browsed the different brands and selections, I realized that I didn't really know which brand would be the best bang . . .
