DIY Valentine’s Day Decoration
One thing I didn’t think about when Dustin and I got married was making our new home “homey.” I didn’t realize that it took my mother years to accumulate a massive amount of decorations for our house. I guess I just assumed that her massive storage bins of holiday items just appeared out of thin air in the attic.
Dustin doesn’t really understand my need to decorate for every holiday, so I’ve been trying to create my decorations instead of buying the really fancy and expensive ones at my local home goods store. I’ve always doubted my crafting abilities, so it’s been fun to experiment and work on my DIY abilities. I wanted to make something for Valentine’s Day and this is what I came up with.
This craft was pretty simple. I bought four wooden letters (small X’s and big o’s) and painted them pink and red. I found some pretty heart embellished ribbon and tied them around the middle of the x’s. It took me 25 minutes altogether to put this together and now we have a cute decoration for our bookshelf!
What kinds of decorations are you making for Valentine’s Day?
