Hey There, March (Goals & Announcements)
Hey There,
I sat down the other night to write my March Goals post and as I went to look at my February goals post, I realized that it got lost when the back end of my site went psycho and locked me out of everything. I had my hosts restore my site from an older backup, resulting in the loss of my February Goals post. Just as well, since the month started out so rough with all of the tech stuff crashing on my new site.
That nightmare is over and I’m glad to report that HTC seems to be running as smoothly as possible (knock on wood) but I can’t remember all my February Goals…I’ll take my losses. I DO remember that I wanted to finish reading HP #2 with Dustin (success) and that I wanted to work on rebranding my old blog posts (I got through January 2015….baby steps, right?)
February wasn’t the month I wanted it to be for my new blog, but that’s okay. I learned a ton. I got a bit more organized. I’m ready to make March my own and to take on some crazy new endeavors! Here are my goals for March and a super exciting (and slightly terrifying) announcement for what’s to come this month (blogging friends, read on):
March Goals: Personal
Start HP #3: Self Explanatory
Get some sun every week: Right now the weather in AZ could not be more beautiful and I sit inside and work on my computer all day. I want to make it a goal to get outside 2-3 times a week, even if it’s just for an hour, and sit by the pool and read. I did that a couple times last week when my mom and sister were in town and it felt so good to just unplug for a little bit!
Use my new planner: Sarah from Sarah Emily Blogs convinced me to go get myself the Happy Planner at Hobby Lobby and I’m convinced that I finally may have found the planner that will work for me! I got a good deal on it, and now I’m going to make myself get back in the habit of using a planner so I don’t feel like I’m running around with my head cut off!
March Goals: Blog
Continue to rebrand and update old blog posts // My goal is to get all of February and March 2015 done! This is a slow and steady journey, but I know it will be well worth it to turn my old posts into rich & evergreen content.
Get serious about utilizing my email lists // I’m a bit better about my blog boss list, but want to use my HTC list as well. My plan? I’m going to write 5 blog posts a week, but only four will be live on the site. The 5th one will go out every Sunday night! So, if you want to get that 5th blog post, make sure you are signed up for the HTC Sunday Bonus List (you can do so HERE)
I’m also going to work on sending out a bi-weekly email on Wednesdays to my blog boss list with exclusive content and ideas for those who want more blogging tips. You can sign up for that list HERE if you are not already on it.
(These are two separate lists, so if you want both types of content, you’ll have to be on both! I promise I’ll make it worth it!)
Posting Schedule // I am the worst at being consistent at posting. I always aim for 4-5 posts, but sometimes I only get 2 out because I have time management issues (or I start watching Netflix…you know) So, I’m writing this here saying that I’m COMMITTING to 4 blog posts a week for the whole month and my 5th one will go out on the HTC Sunday Bonus Post email list! I CAN DO IT!
Last but not least….
Launch my blogging mentorship program // Okay, here’s where I am going to be fearless and say: I’m going to start offering a mentorship program…for free. Over the last few weeks, I have had a TON of amazing bloggers reach out to me through email & Facebook & Instagram & even had a google hangout video sesh, asking for help or advice or just needing a sounding board to narrow down some ideas. I have been so honored to be the person you choose to reach out too! I feel like I finally know enough to talk and guide others in blogging confidently. I have worked so hard and learned so much over the last year and I feel like I can put my teaching degree to work and help others get their feet on the ground.
I’m only going to take on three bloggers this month in order to not burn myself out and I’m going to do it for free since this is my first time doing something like this. I anticipate offering it for free for the next couple of months as I start out and hopefully perfect the program! If you sign up to do it over the next couple months, I’ll be asking you for extensive feedback so that I can learn how to help others better the next time around!
Here’s what the program includes:
Prior to the start of the program, I’ll send out a survey to get an idea of what questions you have and what you are hoping to get out of the mentorship! I’ll also peruse your blog & social media to get a feel for your biz and come up with a list of things that we can work on together!
When the program starts, we will either have a phone call or google hangout sesh (whatever you prefer) where we can go over everything from my findings and your survey! Then, we will come up with a plan of action!
Throughout the month, I will customize the plan to fit your needs! I’ll send you worksheets/tutorials/checklists weekly. You will have unlimited email access to ask me any questions you may have throughout the month! I’ll also create a specific FB chat thread for the three bloggers in the mentorship program for the month so that you can ask any questions you have in real time and learn from the other’s and their questions as well! You also get an exclusive discount code to use at Midnight Photography and Design for any blog design/business cards/media kit needs. We will have 1-2 more google hangout sessions throughout the month at your choosing to go over any other questions or adjust your plan of action accordingly!
So, here’s the deal: I have two spots available for the month of March (I gave the first spot away to a blogging friend who reached out to me the other day for some advice.) I don’t want this to be a first come first serve thing, so I’m going to raffle them off! If this is something you would be interested in doing this month (going through the mentorship program with me) enter below! I’ll contact the two winners on Friday! Everyone else will be put on a waiting list and will be notified when new spots open up!
Note: Please only enter if you are SERIOUS about blogging and SERIOUS about doing the work for the whole month of March. Since I’m offering this for free, I don’t want to waste my time putting it all together to not have someone follow through on their end!
Note 2: This doesn’t mean that you can’t still reach out to me with questions/ideas/collabs! I still love talking blog; it just means that I’m going to be devoting more time to the people in the program!
Well, there it is! My big goals for March! I really am planning on working so hard this month and doing my very best to be fearless!
ALSO: If the blog mentorship isn’t you thing (totally okay if it isn’t) I’ve got another giveaway going for you:
