In and Out - September Edition
It’s my favorite time of the month: the September edition of In and Out! I have some great products to share with you this month and some things that left me disappointed, so I’m glad I get to share that information and warn anyone of what to stay away from! Don’t forget to check out Ashley & Emilie’s lists too, and link up your own In & Out post at the bottom!
Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Palette - I’ve mentioned it previously that eyeshadows are one of the few makeup products I’m okay spending money on. I love palettes and drugstore ones just do not have the quality that high end ones do. That being said, if I had to pick one eyeshadow palette to keep for the rest of my life, this one would be it. Not only is this palette PERFECT for fall, the pigmentation, color pay off and blendability is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced with any other type of matte shadow. Most matte shadows I’ve tried to use are super hard to blend out and I find that they come off super patchy, but that’s not the case for these. This palette also has 3 quads (neutral, cool and warm tones) so the variety of looks you can create with this is endless. Plus, I find that matte shadows can really make your eyes open up and appear larger. Basically, what I’m trying to say is that I’ve used this palette almost every day for the last three weeks and if you are considering investing in a high end eyeshadow palette, this is the one.
NYX Microbrow Pencil (ash brown) - My gappy left eyebrows look so full and natural when I use this pencil to fill it in! I love the color pay off and find that this is a great and affordable alternative to the brow whiz by Anastastia Beverly Hills
Milani Brow Gel - I have found that there is no point in filling in my eyebrows if I don’t set my brows with brow gel! The Milani brow gel is by far my favorite I’ve tried, to the point that I’m almost out and I want to go repurchase it instead of trying a new brand. It’s clear, has great hold and really keeps my brows in place!
Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Touch of Spice - Holy batman, this is my favorite fall lip color and I cannot stop wearing it! Plus, the formula is awesome. Normally I find matte lipsticks to be a little drying but this one is exactly what it says: creamy. And it lasts long on the lips and has great color pay off. I haven’t worn anything else on my lips in weeks because this one is just too good.
Greater Homes Candle in Caramel Pumpkin Popcorn - Well, if you want the most perfect fall candle to burn in your home, this one is it. Dustin and I are obsessed and will be going to buy more because we are burning through this one so fast. Plus, I love that Greater Home Candles are so affordable!

OUT
Makeup Revolution Girls on Film Eyeshadow Palette -I bought this palette two days ago and I’m already so disappointed with it. I’ve heard such great things about Makeup Revolution and couldn’t wait to try some of it out because it’s so decently priced. I tore into it when I got into the car and was even more excited because the shadows swatched so beautifully on my fingers. However, when I went to put use it on my eyes, I was so disappointed. The shimmer shadows are way too glittery and it has way to much fall out. Plus, it was so hard to get the actual color on my lid. The only redeeming quality of this palette are the matte shadows, which have decent pigmentation and color payoff. But all in all, this was a major disappointment.
NYX HD Powder in Banana- I’ve been using this since June and I so desperately wanted this to work for me because the color is so brightening for under the eyes, but every time I use it to set my concealer, it cakes up like none other. So, so cakey. So mad. So sad.
Also Out: Taxes. Irresponsible dog owners. Window Regulators.
