January Goals & Exciting Announcement!
Oh hey January, I’m super excited you are here! Like I mentioned yesterday, 2015 was not my favorite year (although it did have some amazing high points) and I’ve been ready for 2016 for a long while now.
I’ve been setting monthly goals for over a year now and I’ve never been so consistent at achieving them in my life. This year, I sat down and really chatted with myself about my goals (not in a creepy way) for the year and where I want to be. Then, I worked backward and set goals every three months to help me get to those big goals. And now, my month goals all will fit into hitting those three-month goals. I hope that made sense…I promise it makes sense on paper.
That being said, here are my January goals for 2016!
Personal Goals:
Reading: Finish Why Not Me by Mindy Kaling and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I’m already breezing through Mindy’s book; and I think it’s better than her first, which is saying something because I LOVED Is Everybody Else Hanging out Without Me. Dustin and I are slowly chugging through HP, so I hope to finish that as well!
Health: 21 days of clean eating! Dustin and I want to detox after the holidays and I want to look good in my bathing suit on our cruise, so we’re eating clean for the next 21 days (minus one or two cheat meals, of course). This weekend, we went grocery shopping together and spent all Sunday evening prepping our meals (lunch and dinner) for the whole week. It’s WAY easier to eat clean when my meals are already made and my snacks already in baggies, so here’s hoping we can stick to it!
Marriage: Have the best time on our cruise! If you follow me on Snapchat, you know that Dustin/our Mint app ruined his Christmas surprise back on Halloween. (I got an email about a large transaction on our credit card and thought our card had been stolen) My sweet husband saved up enough money during his sales this summer without me knowing to book us a week long cruise without going into debt!! I’m so, so excited. Dustin and I have wanted to go on a cruise since we got married, but were so focused on getting out of debt that we just never could swing it. To be able to buy this cruise with cash is a big deal and I can’t wait to spend the week in the Caribbean with him.
Shout out to Nicole and Erik for taking our Rosie Roo for the week! We cannot thank you enough!
Blogging Goals;
Blogging: Go to my first blogging conference! This was a goal I had for this year and I’m so excited I’m going to be able to fulfill it this month already. There was a discussion happening in Passion Project (the blogging community Facebook group I manage) about blogging conferences and someone left a link to a small and affordable one happening in Phoenix! I couldn’t believe my luck! I immediately dropped everything I was doing and bought my ticket right away! I’m so excited to go meet and network with other bloggers and to listen to the speakers, one of which is a senior coordinator for one of the biggest influencer companies I work with: Social Fabric.
Instagram: Hit 3K on Instagram (which is crazy to me because when I first started doing these goal posts, I had 432 followers on Instagram) I’m just 230 followers shy of the next big mark! My new Instagram strategy seems to be working (I’ve gained almost 1500 followers organically since the first of November) so I’m hoping to keep up the momentum!

Blogging: Finish and finalize my rebrand! DUH DU DUN DUNNNNN! SURPRISE! Life with Rosie is getting a makeover! And not just a makeover, but a whole new name, URL, everything. I’ve teamed up with an awesome designer to make this come true and have my new URL purchased and ready to go!
When I redesigned back in September, I was really trying to ignore the pressing feeling I had that I needed to rebrand. I was scared of messing up everything I had worked so hard for and achieved during the year. But, since I’m trying to be fearless this year, I knew that I had to get up my courage and pull the trigger. I love the LWR name and it’s bittersweet moving on from it, but my vision for this space is so clear for this year and I know I need a new name and look to go with it. Also, I’m tired of people thinking my name is Rosie. It’s not; my name is Chelsie (spelled with an IE!)
Anywho, for those of you who love that Roo monster of mine, don’t worry. She’ll still be a regular around the blog, social media and of course snapchat. She’s just too cute (and precious) to cut out of my blog completely!
So now that the cat is out of the bag, I’m so ready to take on this month (and this year). I’ve got a lot of things to do before Dustin and I set sail later this month, a lot of things to finalize for the new site and some awesome reading to finish.
What are your goals for January? What would you like to see when the new site launches?
