Makeup Vanity Necessities: The HiMirror Plus
This post is sponsored by PRIMP Network. All opinions are mine and mine alone.
This past weekend, Dustin and I have been working our bums off to give my beauty room/office a major overhaul and redesign. If you’ve been around HTC for a while, you’ll know that the previous owners of our new house decided to paint all the walls this awful tan color with green undertones. After consulting with my Instagram Fam on stories, I finally committed to a paint color for my office and I can HAPPILY say that the yucky color is gone! My office is starting to really come together and I’ve been spending all week organizing my desk and vanity, hanging shelves, and decluttering.
I’m planning on doing a full office reveal and vlog in the near future, but I wanted to take some time to talk about a new product that came in the mail just in time for the big office/beauty-room redesign: The HiMirror Plus. This product has been a fun addition to my makeup vanity and is so innovative and different from anything else I’ve tried, so I wanted to give it a full review to anyone who may be in the market for a new vanity mirror.
The HiMirror Plus
This product takes vanity mirror to a WHOLE new level. It’s a crazy combination of technology and beauty that still boggles my mind because it’s not just a mirror. It’s a virtual beauty BFF and at-home beauty consultant! This mirror has an actual screen, like a computer, that powers on and connects to your wifi. When you turn it on, it welcomes you with the weather forecast and the latest news in skin care. It also comes with an HD camera that takes pictures of your skin and analyzes it for dark spots, clogged pores, and redness. After taking a look at your skin, the HiMirror Plus will suggest skincare products to use to help you improve your skin. Um, yes pleaseeee!
The HiMirror Plus also comes with ambient lights built into the mirror. This means that the mirror can adjust the lighting depending on what type of situation you are going to be in. For example, I can choose the light to mimic office lighting or bright sunshine, which helps me apply my makeup so I’ll know exactly what it looks like in that specific setting.
Finally, this mirror also has a media center that allows you to connect to Spotify and stream music through it while you are getting ready for the day.
Worth the Hype?
I’ve been using the HiMirror Plus for two weeks now and overall, have had a pleasant experience with it. The skin analyzing features have far exceeded my expectations and I’ve enjoyed learning how to adjust my skin care regimen to target my trouble areas. I really love the ambient lighting as I don’t have any other kind of product that will adjust the lighting to reflect the different types of light I’m in during the day.
My one warning about this product would be the ability to navigate through the different screens. This mirror relies on either voice commands or physical gestures to navigate and change the different screens. I have found the gestures to be a bit slow to respond or temperamental at times, but the voice commands to respond better. I wish that there was either a touch panel or physical buttons that would allow me to change screens if the motions were not being picked up by the sensor. You can use the app on your phone and turn your phone into a mouse for the mirror, which is kind of cool but has limitations.
While the HiMirror definitely has a few navigation flaws that still need to be worked out, I really haven’t seen any other mirror come close to the capabilities of this one. I think it really does offer real advice when it comes to skin care that’s not gimmicky or general. And the lighting feature alone is worth it to me!
