Meet the Guy behind my Blog
I am so excited to be linking up today with Betsy from Heavens to Betsy on her brilliant idea to do a Guys Behind the Blog Link Up! Today I am introducing you all the the guy behind my blog, my husband, Dustin. Getting Life with Rosie up and running would not have been possible if he did not support me and believe in me. I talk about him a lot, but I thought this was a fun way for him to introduce himself through an interview!
1 // Introduce yourself!
Ok. Well, my name is Dustin Carr. I…have a wonderful wife and sweet pup. I am a 23 year old student at BYU-Idaho nearing the end of my degree in business management. I enjoy being a hard worker, but I what I enjoy even more is finding ways to make money passively so that by the time I turn 30, I technically won’t have to work another day in my life.
True story, Dustin has big goals and I know he will achieve them!
2 // What do you think about my blog and what do I blog about?
Life with Rosie is a blog for mostly young adult women to find fulfillment and the joy of accomplishment in their daily lives. I think it’s awesome that women can have a way to connect and relate to Chelsie and Rosie and that Chelsie has a creative outlet!
3 // Do you have you ever had a blog, or have you ever considered starting one?
I actually just started one for my web business relations class and it is about my learnings in starting up an online business. My intent is to help people who are seeking motivation to start an online business but may be embarrassed by lack of knowledge on the subject and to be able to relate to my beginnings and prosper from the notes I take about my progress.
4 // if you could be a member of any band, which one would it be?
Hmmmm….that’s a good question. I would be a member of Mumford and Sons because they are popular but they aren’t too popular like Taylor Swift, which is annoying. They are hipster and cool and also really fun. You can dance to their music, like an Irish Jig and I like that.
5 // Valentine’s day is on the horizon…are you the date-planner type or do you fly by the seat of your pants? do you have anything planned for February 14 this year?
Well, here goes my surprises. Yeah, I like to plan a little bit sometimes. I have plans for Chelsie and I to get a nice couples massage in the morning and then we are going to get or possibly try to make Sushi at home (we are getting it from my favorite sushi place, hands down) but now I realize I have a lot more planning to do because that leaves a lot more hours in the day to do things.
So one time we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse to keep our tradition of going to a nicer restaurant once a month on the same day that we got married. Normally this is a night for us to laugh and catch up. But on this night, our new puppy, Rosie, sat in our Ford Mustang crying the whole time. So there I sat with an anxious wife who was worried that we had made the wrong choice on getting Rosie and was scared that we might need to give her up because Rosie had major separation anxiety. To all the waiters and waitresses it must have looked like we were breaking up because we sat there holding hands and my wife was just sobbing at the table. I asked for our meals to go and our check immediately. The manager brought our meals and our check, gave his condolences and left. It was super awkward and dinner was pretty much ruined, but we decided to keep Rosie and had great steak for leftovers and a story to laugh at.
The Patriots for my wife’s sake. If I rooted for the Seahawks, I’d probably have to sleep on the couch. In all honesty, I never grew up liking sports, but Chelsie showed me why she likes the Patriots. It’s fun to root for a team with such big hearts, that are respectable players and do so much for their community. Any team that has players that would visit my wife while she was battling cancer (I will tell that story later) is a team that I would cheer on for life.
