November Goals
October was an amazing month and lived up to all the expectations I had for it. As much as I loved it, Iām so excited that itās November and that itās FINALLY acceptable for me to play my Christmas music! O Holy Night, Iām coming for you!
In all seriousness, October was a killer month for me and LWR. I was able to hit and exceed so many blog goals that has left me so totally baffled at what Iāve been able to accomplish. Itās been humbling to see what hard work and putting so much time and effort into something that I love without the assurance that it will work out can do. I have a dream and October showed me that I am capable of making it come true! #GIRLPOWER
October Goal Report:
Blog/Get to 1K followers on Pinterest - Done! I also really stepped up my Pinterest game this month and have seen some great results so hooray!
Blog/Celebrate my 6 month blogiversary-Done! I unveiled the new design for LWR, threw a great giveaway (Congrats, Emily!) and had some great bloggers contribute to an advice sharing post!
Read/3 Books- Fail. I donāt want to talk about it
Personal/Cook 5 meals a week-This was pretty much a success; I think I missed a few nights but we cooked and ate at home most of the time!
Personal/Take Rosie to dog park 3x a week until we make a friend- Check! We have gone to the dog park 4-5 times a week! Rosie has made some doggy friends and Dustin and I are starting to make some friends, too!
November Goals:
Blog/Maintain page views-I had an amazing month in growing my blog and ended the month at 14k page views! I never thought I would break 10K, so Iām so grateful and excited to see goals that I thought were unattainable being reached. It motivates me to keep pushing and shows me that I am capable of reaching my goals! I hope that November, I can hit 10K again!
Blog/Instagram Plan-create a plan and follow through with it for the month; track progress. I had the realization that I am approaching my Instagram game completely wrong and itās not doing me any favors in growing my brand. I have spent the last couple weeks studying Instagram feeds of people I admire and writing down trends/common threads and tweaking my Instagram feed to reflect those. In the last week since Iāve done this, Iāve gained 120 followers organically! I donāt know if this is a fluke or if the changes Iām making are actually working, but Iām going to stick to the plan for the whole month and see how it goes!
Blog/Share the Wealth-I never ever thought of myself as an entrepreneur or someone remotely capable of making her own income and working for herself. I always thought I would get a degree and teach English until we had kids. It blows my mind that I am actually working for myself and making a small, but significant income off of my blog. I want others who have dreams like I do to know that it IS possible to live the #girlboss dream. I know Iām not super experienced in being a professional blogger, but I have made my fair share of errors and mistakes and discovers some blog hacks and tips along the way. I want to share that with anyone who wants to know and have a few projects in the works to start that.
Personal/Schedule-Be better about scheduling my day-Sometimes working from home is awesome and sometimes I let it become an excuse to watch Netflix and scroll through Instagram feeds for far to long. I want to work this month on being more intentional with my time; including getting up and getting ready for the day first thing in the morning and only taking a nap if I hit all my goals during the morning.
Personal/-be intentional about purchases-So, a couple days into October, I decided that I wanted to go on a no-spend for makeup. I love makeup and collecting it, but I realized I was buying a ton of makeup and not thinking about where else I could put my money. With the support from my Passion Project admins, I was able to make it through the whole month with only buying new eyelash glue and a few new eyeliners from Colour Pop (a record 35 dollars totally spent in makeup). It really opened my eyes to how much I spend without planning and as a #girlboss in charge of all my own finances, I need to be more intentional with my spending, which basically means less impulse trips to Target.
Those are my goals for November; not as many as usual but enough to keep me busy. This is my favorite time of year and I plan on enjoying all the Christmas music possible and all the baking and pine-scented candles.
