Winter Pajamas + 10 BEST Holiday Movies to Stream
This post was sponsored by Olive Ave. All Opinions are my own.
Guys, I’ve got a huge confession. I’ve never owned Christmas pajamas. In fact, I haven’t owned traditional “jammies” since high school. I know! Pajamas are so cute and cozy these days, but I always felt weird in PJ pants because they were never long enough and they looked like floods on me (before the cropped flowy pant was a trend, that is.)
Now that I’m an adult and have to pay for our heating bill, wearing cozy pajamas in the evening has been a must. I can’t get away with shorts and a tank top anymore – especially in the winter. I was so excited when one of my favorite boutiques from my college town, Olive Ave, said that they would send me and some of my best blogging friends some winter pajamas to keep us warm and cozy for the holiday season and beyond!
Matching Winter Pajamas
Also, can we walkt about how cute these pajams work as matching sets? I love that these pajamas aren’t the typical cliche Christmas pajamas (although I do love those) and that they will work all winter long.
Follow my Friends (and get the PJ Deets!)
Keara from Modest Style (wearing the Khloe PJ Set)
Abby from The Classy Giraffe (wearing the Khloe PJ Set)
Karli from Everyday Ellis (wearing Jess PJ Set)
Cayli from Night Chayde (wearing Black & White Pajama Pants and Amanda Top in Red)
Kate from Love Simply Kate (wearing Jess PJ Set)
And I’m wearing the Green Pajama Pants (size large – these run a little large, so if you are in between sizes, size down.) with the Amanda Top (size large, I sized up for a comfier fit.)
So, as you are snuggling in your cozy winter pajamas with your best girlfriends, I wanted to throw together a list of the BEST Christmas movies to stream during the next week. You all know I am a Christmas fanatic, and although Christmas music is my FAVORITE, cheesy Christmas movies are a close, close second. I spend ALL December long going through my favorites and finding new ones to watch every year. So, that being said, I can confidently say these are the best of the best available to stream right now.
10 BEST Holiday Movies to Stream:
On Netflix –
A Christmas Prince – This was Netflix’s original Christmas movie this year and it did not disappoint. I’m not one of those people who has watched it every day since it was released, but I have watched it more than once. It’s perfectly cheesy, romantic, and Christmasy. It’s about an aspiring young journalist who is sent abroad to get the scoop on a handsome price poised to be king.
A Christmas Kiss – An aspiring interior designer is mortified to learn that the mysterious man she kissed in a falling elevator is her callous bosses boyfriend. I’ve watched this one A LOT since Netflix became a thing. I loveeee that this one is set in Boston and it makes me feel like I’m home when I’m missing that New Englandy Christmas feel.
A Dogwalker’s Christmas Tale – If you love dogs, this one is must-watch for you. A spoiled 21-year old woman faces a tough decision when a handsome new friend asks her to help protect a dog park from her wealthy employer.
The Spirit of Christmas – As Christmas approaches, an attorney travels to Vermont to oversee the sale of an inn, where she falls for a handsome but cursed ghost. I think this is my favorite one on Netflix, mainly because the lead is SO incredibly attractive and also, the plot is a little different from the typical cheesy Christmas movie, which is a nice change of pace.
On Hulu –
Christmas with the Kranks – In Christmas with the Kranks, Tim Allen plays Luther Krank, a man who decides to skip Christmas and all the surrounding trappings and go on a vacation with his wife Nora (Jamie Lee Curtis) instead. His daughter decides at the last minute to come home and chaos reigns as they try to throw together Christmas last minute. I’m calling this one a classic, even if it isn’t animated. I demand to watch this one every year, along with Elf. It makes me laugh SO hard and has such a feel-good family vibe to it.
Christmas Crush – When a woman learns of her high school reunion a week before Christmas, she’s ecstatic to finally have her chance to win back the one “that got away.” This is one of those perfectly wonderful cheesy Christmas movies that makes you cringe and cry with joy all at once. Also, the guy who plays Aaron Samuels from Mean Girls is in this and it’s awesome.
The Holiday – This movie is about two women on opposite sides of the globe who swap houses only to discover that a change of address can really change their lives. This is a classic and I love Jack Black in this (which I rarely say.)
On Amazon Prime –
I want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown – The story revolves around Linus and Lucy’s baby brother who wants a dog for Christmas. His mother won’t let him have one and so he settles by hanging out with Snoopy’s brother, Spike. This is a really cute addition to the classic Peanut’s Christmas movies (and besides, who doesn’t love dogs?)
Falling for Christmas – When champion figure skater Claire becomes injured she is sent to a rehabilitation center in the snowy mountains where she meets and falls for a local ice fisherman who shows her there is more to life than competition. Again, another perfectly cheesy Hallmark-y Christmas movie in all of its glory and I loved it.
Christmas Grace – Gary’s toy store gets unexpected competition when Jim, the owner of a new store, shows up. As toys fly off the shelves, Gary decides to treat his competition with love instead of anger, which leads to unexpected, heartwarming results. Super feel-good movie with a great message!
BONUS – Here’s a list of my favorite Christmas Movies, Books, and Music!
Okay, give it to me – are you a Pajama type of person? And what holiday movies are you streaming this week?
