Introducing: the #yearofme – an HTC community
We’re 3 weeks into the new year, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve already hit a couple bumps in the road when it has come to following through on my resolutions and goals. Isn’t it always like that, though? You put something out into the universe and the universe comes right back and tests your resolve to follow through with it. Normally, I let the universe win, but not this year. Not during the #yearofme.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the #yearofme and more specifically what I want to get out of it. I’ve shared a lot of my goals and resolutions that are connected to the #yearofme in my word of the year post, but I really want it to be MORE than a word. I genuinely want to make life changes, I want to grow, and I want to be in a better version of myself than I am today. I also know that I do better when I have others to hold me accountable and since the HTC community has been SO helpful, encouraging, and kind, I have wanted to find a way to grow and foster those friendships. This might sound so cheesy, but I truly consider you all my friends and I value your opinions, I care about you as human beings, and I am grateful for the time you spend with me (reading my blog or leaving a comment or liking an Instagram photo.)
With all that being said, I’m so excited (and nervous) to introduce:
#yearofme – an HTC Vibrant Life Community
I’ve debated back and forth about launching a Facebook group for SO long. I was (well, still am) terrified that no one would join. I’m nervous that it won’t be as awesome as I’m dreaming it to be. I’m just afraid that it will flop and everyone will think I’m ridiculous. But, in the true spirit of the #yearofme, I’m going to launch it anyway. Because, why the heck not? Even if only one person joins, I will have done something that I’m excited about, something that I’ve been thinking about, and something that I WANT to do.
Who is it for?
At one point in time or another, I have felt stuck and stagnant. I have felt discouraged by my lack of motivation, my lack of drive, and my lack of personal growth. I decided that 2018 was going to be the #yearofme – and that I was going to do everything to grow and learn and be better. Since then, I’ve been collecting and absorbing everything I can get my hands on when it comes to personal growth and understanding myself better. I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned already.
This group is for every woman who wants or needs a place of encouragement to get through hard days, who wants resources to help her grow, who wants to make new friends, and who wants to make 2018 the #yearofme. You DO NOT have to be a blogger to join (but you can be.) You DO NOT have to be a mom to join (but you can be.) You just need to be someone who is kind, who is willing to share their experiences, and who wants a sounding board to talk to that they might not have in real life.
If you are craving self-development and growth, an ability to hone in on your purpose, a deeper and more fulfilling sense of joy and alignment, then this space is for you. Because I’m craving that too, and I’ll be sharing everything I’m doing on my journey to find it.
What will be posted?
I plan on mainly posting quotes, videos, articles, podcasts, books, etc, that I discover and find helpful on my journey of pursuing the #yearofme for others to experience and chat about. I want this group to be a resource database for those who need words of encouragement or new ways, ideas to better themselves. I want it to be a hub to help you on your #yearofme journey!
I also plan on doing monthly giveaways, lining up some guest speakers for FB lives, and maybe even planning a virtual retreat down the road.
I want you to post, too. If you read something profound that changes your outlook on something, please share it. If you are struggling with something and need some words of encouragement, I hope you request it. If you need advice on a decision, I hope you ask for it. If you are working on a self-development goal and meet it, I hope you celebrate it with the community.
Basically, I want anyone who joins to know that they have a place to come to and chat about THEIR goals for 2018, whether that be health goals, or personal development goals, or relationship goals, or business goals. This community is going to be all about YOU while you cheer on others pursuing their own goals.
If this sounds like a community you want to try out, hop over and request to join.
And if you feel like it isn’t for you, no worries. No hard feelings. Know that I’m cheering you on anyway and that you are welcome to join down the road. I hope to see you there.
