3 Summer to Fall Transitional Outfits

I just looked at the weather forecast and thank the stars, we’re finally about to leave the 90-degree weather behind us in Utah. It’s only 65 degrees today, raining, breezy, and absolute fall weather perfection. I could not be more thrilled. I have so many cozy sweaters waiting for me and I can finally eat my Pumpkin Spice flavored things without being judged by everyone and their dog.
It’s been a hot second since I’ve done any fashion posts on HTC, which is actually a hoot since I’ve been working in the fashion industry for almost a year and buy clothes pretty much every week (hard not to when you’re surrounded by cute things every day.) I have loved everything about being part of the MSC team; but most importantly, I have loved seeing how powerful a new outfit can be for someone. Sounds kind of dramatic, but it’s true. Being able to watch the customers of MSC leave feeling so good about themselves because they found something that expresses who they are and that they feel good in truly takes the cake.
That’s why I firmly believe that a good outfit can truly help someone live a more vibrant life. To me, sharing outfit and style inspiration isn’t about consumerism or always having the latest and greatest things. It’s about expressing how confident I feel in myself and who I am showing to the world when I step out of my front door. It’s showing myself (even more than others) that I believe that my body deserves to have an outfit on that looks and feels good. By taking the time to get up, get dressed, and brush my hair, I’m specifically setting time aside to love on me and that always sets me up for a good day.
And nothing makes me happier than fall fashion. Transitioning from tees and shorts to leggings and sweaters is what I look forward to every year and I figured it might be helpful to share some outfit inspo for anyone else who’s READY for fall weather (but waiting for fall temperatures.) Here are three summer-to-fall transitional outfits to help you have your best September yet!
Leopard Camisole | Mustard Cardigan | White Denim | Felt Hat | Brown Booties
Whoever came up with the “no white after labor day” rule was a complete ninny and I’m over it. Transitioning my white pieces for fall is one of my favorite challenges as the weather gets cooler and this is my favorite outfit combo I’ve come up with thus far. I love how bold and vibrant the mustard cardigan and leopard cami contrast against the white denim. Obviously, had to add a felt hat to really make it feel fall (that’s an amazon find for ya!) Paired with some brown booties, and the white looks like it was meant for fall!
White Tee (Nordstrom Rack) | Camo Vest (last season) Similar here | Distressed Denim | Brown Booties | Necklace | Earrings – MSC | Circle Bag
I bought this camo vest last year on a bit of a whim before camo really took off and now I cannot get enough of it. By throwing it on a basic tee and denim look, it instantly takes a summer outfit and transitions it to fall. This combo is perfect for those Indian Summer days when you desperately want it to be fall and the temperature is just not cooperating (Utah is known for having a second summer at the end of September and it drives this Autumn loving girl CRAZY!) To really make it feel more fall than summer, I paired it with the same booties as the outfit above and the cutest brown circle bag from Fawn Design.
Dress | Shoes (in-store only)
Could I really call myself an MSC employee if I didn’t share at least once piece from the shop? When this dress came to the warehouse for photos, I gasped. Navy and light blue and rust and orange? The perfect color combo for a summer to fall transitional dress. The material is lightweight and very breathable and the movement from the skirt is absolutely epic. I feel like a rockstar in this thing! Plus, it will look adorable with a denim jacket and booties when the weather gets cooler! (PS – my friends and family discount code for MSC is CHELSIE10)
