In and Out – April Edition
I can’t believe April is almost over! This year seems like it’s flying by. Today I’m excited to bring you my favorite monthly post: In and Out! In & Out is a monthly round up of all the products that I tried and loved this month (IN) and the products that left me feeling a little bitter (OUT). Be sure to check out previous In&Out posts if you want to see what I’ve tried out and reviewed in the last few months. I buy all of these products with my own money (expect one that I won!) so all of these opinions are my very honest thoughts!
IN:
Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer: I decided to give this foundation primer a go on a recommendation from another blogger and I have been so impressed by it. It goes on smooth and although it feels a little creamy, it doesn’t feel oily. I have noticed a huge difference in my foundation stay on the days I use it compared to the days I don’t and it hasn’t caused any break outs or blemishes! A definite keeper in my book!
NYX Butter Gloss (Peaches and Cream): Love it. Need it in every color. Long color stay, even after the actual “gloss” wears off and the color is bright without being obnoxious. For 4.99 at Target, you can bet I’ll be getting other colors!
Bait Hair Perfume: I won this hair perfume from a giveaway on Page by Paige and I am loving this stuff! Did you know that your hair holds scents the best, but spraying actual perfume on it can dry it out? Bait created this perfume specifically for your hair and I love spraying it all over in the morning after I have finished styling.
Urban Decay Naked2 Basics: I actually bought UD’s Naked Pallet 1 last month but felt so guilty about spending 54 dollars on eyeshadow that I returned it the second it came in the mail. But, I’ve been wanting to try UD’s eyeshadow for the longest time to see if it’s really and truly worth the money. I decided that getting a Basic Pallet would be a great compromise ($28) because I could try out the quality of the shadow without spending a ton and then being disappointed. I was not disappointed. The eyeshadows are creamy and pigmented. They go on smoothly and stay all day. There is little fall out and I love the very natural but visible look I get with it. You can bet your bottom dollar I will be investing in a full pallet in the near future.
Sonia Kashuk Contour Brush: I finally bit the bullet and bought a bit of a nicer contour brush at Target a few weeks ago and I can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on. This brush has a great quality, no shedding and it is easy to buff out foundation with it. For 9.99, I’m not mad at all.
Also in: re-booted macbooks. house fans. musher’s secret wax. air conditioning. instagram giveaways. books. swaps. mail. rocksbox customer service. cook books. lasagna. cool cots for pups.
NYX Wonder Stick-I wanted to try out a contour stick and this was not the way to go. The highlight end does not go on smoothly and feels sticky. Any time I tried to blend in the bronze side, it would basically wipe off. Not a fan.
Benefit’s Rollerlash: While this is still better then most drugstore mascaras, it did not live up to all the hype for me. It didn’t give any noticeable curl to my lashes and kind of wore off during the day. If you are looking for a good mascara, I recommend sticking to Benefit’s “They’re Real” over Rollerlash.
Also Out: Tires. The California Drought. water restrictions. stomach flus. peanut m&ms. door locks. car alarms. the month of August. tow hitches.
There you have it! Even though I had some duds, I found some great new products to use this summer. Have you tried any of these products? What were your thoughts? What was in or out for you this month?
