In and Out: May Edition
Some of these products were received in exchange for my honest opinion from Influenster.
It’s the end of May? Already? Where is this year going? End of the month means another In and Out round up; a monthly series where I review products that worked for me (In) and products that disappointed me (Out).
In:
Covergirl’s Intensify Me Liquid Eye Liner-c/o Influenster. I got this eyeliner in a voxbox this month and was excited about it because it came the day I was planning on going to Sephora and buying a Stila liner. I have never been so impressed by a drugstore liquid eyeliner. This stuff goes on smoothly and has a gorgeous inky black color. It stays all day and doesn’t fade. Also, the applicator tip is both skinny and wide and makes it easy to change up what look you are going for depending on what side you use. Love. Love. Love.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara- I have FINALLY found a mascara that has replaced my holy grail Benefit’s They’re Real. I can’t believe it. But this mascara is EVERYTHING it’s cracked up to be and more. It thickens, lengthens, adds volume and isn’t heavy on my lashes. I’m so happy with this mascara and definitely think it’s worth the 24 dollars (I know, pricy, but sometimes you just gotta splurge on a product that works perfectly every. single. time)
Garnier Fructis Texture-Tease Spray- I was so bummed because my second bottle of Rusk’s texture spray broke on me AGAIN! My first one broke the second time I used it and this one last me two months before the pump broke just like the first. I’m not close to the store I bought it from, so I decided I would take a break from Rusk until they redesigned the bottle. I had to find a similar product and hesitantly bought the Garnier Fructis version of it. I really can’t tell much of a difference. Rusk smells a lot better, but this stuff gives me the same texture as the Rusk and doesn’t weigh my hair down. I’m content!
Gratitude Journal- During a particularly hard week this month, I found this journal in Target while taking myself to pick out some new nail polish to cheer myself up. I realized I really needed an attitude adjustment about my current situation and thought this journal would help me do that. Some of my favorite prompts I’ve written about from this journal are: “Write about your favorite memory” and “Write about a relationship you are grateful for.” Without a doubt, writing my thoughts down in this little guy every night has helped me stay happier.
Rocksbox- Rocksbox is a monthly jewelry subscription box that I’ve been using for the last little while. I still love it so much. It’s a great way to try lots of different jewelry without spending a ton of money on it. My stylist sent me this awesome statement ring, Kendra Scott earrings and a delicate layered necklace that I have worn every day for the last week. The pieces work so well with each other! If you are unsure about Rocksbox, you can try it for a free month using the code: “chelsiebff6”

Out:
Essie Polish: I have been trying to convince myself to spend 8 bucks on an Essie polish for months. I finally bought this one in a pretty summer blue and painted my nails the second I got home. I was not impressed. The polish went on super streaky, even after two coats and it had almost no shine to it. I didn’t like the applicator brush. I didn’t like how hard it was to take off. I just did not like it.
NYX Eyeshadow Base: I recently ran out of my Mary Kay eyeshadow primer and thought I would try a drugstore brand. This was not a winner. It goes on super thick and bright white, so you have to make sure you cover it all with your eyeshadow. Also, I noticed creasing in my shadow a few hours into my day every time I used it. Boo.
NYX Double Ended Liner: Man, it wasn’t a good month for NYX products, I guess! Before I got the Covergirl liner in the mail, I picked this up in a last ditch attempt to save some money before splurging on a Stila liner. Not a winner. The liquid liner dried up on day three and wouldn’t apply over my shadows. The kohl liner broke on day two. Thank goodness for Covergirl saving the day!
Also Out: backing into people in my car. anxiety. flying. droughts. foxtails. not having enough time in the day.
That rounds out this month! Have you tried any of these products? What was your experience? What was in and out for you this month?
