I Was Here by Gayle Forman–★★★★-4 Stars- I listened to this book and I think I liked it better than If I Stay and Where She Went. This story followed a girl named Cody, who is left reeling after her best friend commits suicide without any apparent reason. I found the main character to be very well developed and loved how the author took her through several real and deep emotions of grieving. I also liked the slight mystery to the story as Cody traces Meg’s footsteps to try and figure out what happened to her.

Scarlet by Marissa Meyers – ★★★★★- 5 Stars- EEEE! I loved loved loved Cinder and can’t believe it took me this long to get to Scarlet! SO good! The characters are well developed, the jumping around different story lines WASN’t confusing and I loved the continued plot twists and clever ties to Little Red Riding Hood! I have Cress in my room waiting to be picked up! If you haven’t read the Lunar Chronicles, I can’t recommend them enough.

Bossypants by Tina Fey–★★★★-4 Stars Funny stuff. I loved this book! It definitely made me lol and rofl. Well, maybe not rofl, but definitely lol. I digress. I still think I liked Mindy Kalling’s book a bit better, but Tina definitely kept me entertained throughout the whole book. It was fun to see where she came from and how she got to where she is now; definitely an inspiration for someone like me who is working hard to make dreams come true!

13 Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson★★★-3 Stars–I listened to this on audio and I might have liked it better is the author could have done British accents, seeing as the majority of the book took place in England. I honestly don’t know what accent she was trying to pull of but it was no where close to English. This story follows a girl named Ginny, who’s favorite and recently deceased aunt had left her 13 blue envelopes that leads her on an adventure through Europe to trace her footsteps and find some closure.

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven–★★-2.5 Stars-This book was so…just so confusing to me. It tackles some pretty serious subjects like mental illness in teenagers and suicide, but I felt like the characters where too quirky to have believable mental illnesses. This story follows Finch and Violet, both who are struggling with mental illnesses and who are completing a class project together. Finch is able to help Violet but struggles with his own issues. It definitely tugs on your heart strings; but I don’t think it’s on the top of my -“YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK NOW” list.
