7 Lipsticks For Fall
Are you tired of me obsessing over fall yet? Hope not, because I’ve only just begun to get it out of my system! I’m super excited to bring you my 7 lipstick recommendations for fall time, mainly because this is the first
fall time I’ve ever worn darker, bolder, vampier shades on my lips…ever. I’ve talked about how self-conscious I am about my teeth, but I’ve been trying really hard to get over that and to not let my worries about my teeth stress me out, get me down, or stop me from experimenting with fun shades.
Anyway, I was inspired to share my fall lipstick shades by Sydnee from Life Life Your Way and Jasmine from CS&S Blog; they both recently posted their fall lippie picks (and none of my picks were their picks, so there are a lot of options out there!) Also, I bought ALL of these lipsticks with my own money, so these are for sure my top recommendations that I honestly love. So, here are my 7 picks for Lipsticks for Fall!
Studio Matte Lip Color by E.L.F. Cosmetics in Wine –This is the darkest, vampiest shade I own and I was petrified to try it and what Dustin was going to say when I walked out with it on my face. His exact words: “That looks kind of…vampy…” Well, that’s success because that is what I was going for! In all honesty, I’m not kidding when I stay that this stuff goes on like a dream. Matte formulas tend to be drying in general, but this is so creamy and pigmented and it goes on so smoothly and it has amazing staying power. It stayed on my lips for over 5 hours without fading. I seriously cannot express how impressed I am by this formula, especially at 3 dollars!
Colour Pop Lippie Stix in Contempo (matte finish) $5.00 – Again, another hydrating matte formula. I love Lippie Stix from Colour Pop because the price is on point. This shade was released in their new fall collection, and I think the purple undertones in it make it an ideal fall shade. It pairs really well with purple/grey smokey eyes.
Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Fig – $24.00 – This is the most expensive lipstick I own (it was a pick-me-up after having a rough week during August) and I don’t regret it buying it one bit. Now, I’m not saying everyone needs to go drop 24 dollars on a lipstick, but if you want to make an investment into a high end formula, I’d definitely recommend checking out the Too Faced line. I don’t really know how to describe Melted Fig; it’s like a liquid lipstick meets a lipgloss? It’s not overly drying, but it’s not sticky or overly glossy…it’s the perfect hybrid! Plus, this deep purple color, with slightly warm undertones is perfect for fall!
Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lip in Bumble – $6.00- This is a liquid lipstick formula and the color is ON POINT for fall! It’s got this gorgeous reddish-brown undertone and is super pigmented. My only warning with this lip product is that it’s a pretty drying formula, so if you don’t like drying lip products, pass this one up. If having your lips feel a little dry doesn’t bother you, then this is definitely a must-have fall shade!
Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Touch of Spice – $5.50 I already mentioned in last month’s In & Out that this lipstick was rocking my world and that remains to be the truth. It’s a very similar shade to bumble, but a bit more pinky and lighter, and CREAMY! It does have a matte finish, but it’s the most hydrating matte lipstick I’ve ever worn. I love love love it and this would be my number one recommendation for someone who wants to wear a fall color lippie without it being too bold or vampy.
City Color City Chic Lipstick in One Night Stand – $4.99- I got this lippie in my last Ipsy bag and this baby is pretty BRIGHT! The formula is creamy and glossy, so I like that I have an option when I’m just not feeling the matte thing. It’s a really pretty jewel toned lipstick for fall and I have loved pair it with a slightly smoked out rosegold eyeshadow look. It’s really affordable and you can also find City Color at TJ Maxx & Ross at times, so be on the look out!
Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Nearly Nude – $5.50 I definitely wanted to mention another shade in the Creamy Matte line that I love! The formula is just as spot-on with Touch of Spice (sometimes different colors in the same line will be made differently and apply better or worse) and I love that this has a warm undertone so it works really well with warm neutral eye looks. Sometimes I want to play up my eyes and not over-do it with a vampy bold lip, so this shade is perfect for making sure all attention goes to the eyes!
That’s all of them! I have really been enjoying learning how to wear these bolder colors and little by little, I’m getting more confident each day and learning that there is no reason to be embarrassed by my teeth. That’s what I love about the power of makeup!
Have you tried any of these shades? Which one was your favorite? What is your go-to fall lip look?
