101 in 1001 and Links that I Love
It’s been a little quiet here, but I promise I have some big plans in the making; new changes coming and thoughts to share. Dustin and I are getting ready to leave for Calaveras county fair this weekend and to see the Redwoods so we can check it off our 101 in 1001 list! Speaking of my 101 in 1001 list, I realized I haven’t updated it in a while, so here are some things we’ve been able to cross off:
#4: Get 50 followers on my blog– As of today I have 439 Likes on Facebook and 130 Followers on Bloglovin. HEY! I DID IT! It’s been so much work but it’s been so much fun.
#11: Go a whole month without drinking soda: I achieved this in February and it was a huge learning experience!
#17: Drive a Camaro: Dustin rented me a Camaro for my golden birthday weekend and it was the best surprise ever. I will own a transformer car when I grow up.
#18: Go to Chinatown, eat dumplings and practice some Mandarin: Dustin and I went to Chinatown last month; we found a hole in the wall shop to get some dumplings and I apologized to a little old lady in Chinese after walking into her!
#36: Try 20 different restaurants: Dustin and I tried The Banshee this week in downtown Chico, and had the best pub food ever. My fish tacos were to die for and the garlic parm fries were amazing.
#56: Go to 3 different Zoos: We checked off number 2 in April when we went to the San Fransisco Zoo! We had a great time walking around and looking at all the animals.
#78: Move out of Idaho: CHECK! We are living in California, where it is warm and wonderful. We miss our friends and family in Idaho so much, but love the weather and the outdoor adventures here.
All in All, I feel like we’re doing pretty well on our list and with our trip to the Redwoods this weekend and the Oregon Coast next weekend, we’ll be able to check off a few more!
Before I sign off for the weekend, here are a few links that I loved this week:
Anna from Rich as Kings wrote about why you should move far away after get married and I couldn’t agree more. Even though our situation is different right now, Dustin and I feel very strongly that living on our own in a different state was the best way to start off our marriage.
Chelsea from Heart Natured wrote a post about why you should try to keep your house clean and it’s spot on. Trying to stay on top of a clean house really helps me focus on the things I want to do and I function better in an organized environment!
Modern Mrs. Darcy released a printable reading journal that I’m obsessing over and can’t wait to print and bind next week. I love goodreads, but there is something about writing down your thoughts on paper as you read.
Shannon from Shanndelier wrote about road tripping and the 7 essentials to survive one, which was super helpful as Dustin and I prepare for two road trips in the next two weeks!
Courtney from The Everyday Elegance wrote a really informative post about how to survive an internship and if you have any opportunity similar to an internship coming up, you should check out her tips.
And finally, I stumbled upon this amazing campfire french toast that Dustin and I are going to try out this weekend while we are camping in the Redwoods! I’ll let you know how it turns out!
We’re off on our trip! Let me know-do you have a 101 in 1001 list? What things have you checked off? And what links have you loved this week?
