A Few of my Favorite Things | February
This post has been sponsored by the PRIMP Network. All opinions are my own.
February has literally flown by (I really think losing those two extra days makes it go by so much faster!) and I wanted to hop on and fine-tune a blog series so I can consistently share some of my favorite things that I think are worth noting and possibly be purchasing! Introducing “A Few of my Favorite Things” – which will be a monthly series where I wrap up some of my favorite products, discoveries, and reads that I loved that month!
Favorite Things | February:
Sudara Robe – This was sent to me last month and I was absolutely honored to be given it and to wear it. I’ve been wanting a robe to lounge in after I get out of the shower and am getting ready for the day and this robe fits the bill perfectly. Sudara’s mission is to help women in India live a life of freedom from human trafficking. This robe was designed by a woman named Lelitha, who escaped from her alcoholic father before he forced her into the sex-trade. I am grateful for her example of bravery and courage – she is truly the epitome of someone who is living a vibrant life despite her past and scars. It is a powerful reminder to me that survivor’s from all walks of life can be united through overcoming our pasts and pursuing vibrant lives together. January was Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and even though it’s now February, please consider spreading the love and supporting these women by purchasing something from Sudara.
52 Lists Project – One of my dearest and most cherished friends in the world is actually the younger sister to Moorea. I’ve been following Moorea’s blog since 2009 back when it was called the Rumination Reading Room and it’s been so inspiring to watch her launch her online store to opening up her first brick and mortar and to getting her book deal. I remember when she first started sharing lists on her blog, so to see it turn into a book was SO inspiring. I FINALLY got my hands on a 52 Lists Project because I wanted to start journaling again but needed an easy format to keep me focused and motivated. This way of journaling is SO easy and so fun – I just finished the “soundtrack of my life” list and had so much fun digging through my music to find the perfectly curated soundtrack to my life currently. Visit Moorea’s online store here.
Stila Glitter & Glow Eyeshadow – I’ve been eyeing this stuff for months and months and finally got my hands on some last month to play with. This stuff is the BOMB! I don’t like using loose glitter on my eyes because even with the stickiest glitter glue, it still get’s everywhere. This formula is so creamy and SO glittery and has absolutely no fallout. It dries down super fast on the lid and doesn’t budge after it’s set. It looks great on its own and it looks beautiful layered on top of other eyeshadow. I used the shade Kitten Karma in my Valentine’s Day Glittery Pink Smokey Eye tutorial a couple weeks ago and it was a show stopper. If you are wanting to add some glam or glitter to your makeup routine but aren’t sure where to start, this product is for you. It’s exceptionally easy to use, doesn’t make a mess, and is just so dang glittery.
BUYER’S TIP – These are a bit expensive on their own, but you can get a trio of mini’s from Sephora for the same price as one full-sized one. Check it out here.
Jeeps – Last summer, in a whirlwind of a weekend, we sold my husband’s sports car and bought ourselves a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport with plans to make it into a dedicated off-roading rig. Since bringing the Jeep home, Dustin has spent hours in the garage adding upgrades (like one-ton steering and a light-bar for night-crawling.) This last weekend, we took Dinah to Moab, UT with my family for our first off-roading adventure. I NEVER EVER thought I’d be someone obsessed with wheeling and cars, but man, I LOVE OUR JEEP! I have learned so much about cars, about off-roading, and about myself since we bought our Jeep and taking it on her first LEGIT off-roading trip was life-changing for me in so many ways (more on this later.) Dustin and I have a huge list of upgrades we want to work on this summer (rock sliders, new radiator, hood vents, and a front locker) so that we can go back in October to do some more challenging trails and I’ve never been so excited to work on a car in my life.
Pamprin – This may be TMI, but I got my dot at the tail end of our Moab trip and it was kind of my worst nightmare. Spending the last few hours on the trail with cramps and facing a 3-hour drive back to Salt Lake City with cramps was NOT how I wanted to end our trip. Thankfully, I had stuck some Pamprin Max Strength in the glove compartment on a last minute whim before we left for Moab, so I was able to avoid almost all the unpleasantness of a period while off-roading. Pamprin Max Strength contains three active ingredients: an antihistamine to relieve irritability, a diuretic to fight against bloating and water weight gain, and a pain reliever to alleviate cramps. I had all my bases covered and was able to finish our trail in high spirits and with no tears of frustrations.
When we finally got back home (after driving through a crazy snow-storm) I switched over to Pamprin Multi-Symptom (no caffeine) so I could sleep without any pain or bloat. Both of these formulas are must-haves for keeping in the Jeep now, so I will definitely be buying some extra bottles the next time I’m at Walmart or order online.
This isn’t the first time Pamprin has saved my butt – read all about how they taught me to add more positivity into my life here.
LoopyCase – I got my first LoopyCase a year ago through PR and really loved how easy it was for me to NOT drop my phone. Dustin and I upgraded our phones last month and my old loopy didn’t fit my new phone. I went three days without a new Loopy before I realized I couldn’t live without one. I had dropped my brand new phone SO MANY TIMES in the span of those three days and still have no clue how I managed to escape without a dent or cracked screen. Plus, after spending this last weekend in Moab and standing on very, very high cliffs, I realized a Loopy was NECESSARY for anyone who off-roads like we do.
Pixi Essence of Rose – This was sent to me in PR and it has quickly become one of my favorite skincare products of all time. I was actually really surprised I liked it so much because Pixi is usually a hit or miss for me – they haven’t consistently delivered products that I loved. But this serum. THIS SERUM! It’s light, it smells amazing, it seeps right into the skin and sits great under makeup or other skincare products and my skin has been VISIBLY brighter and evener. I haven’t seen results like this since I started using Paula’s Choice regularly. So, so happy to find a serum that’s gentle on my skin, but packs a punch.
Pixi Matte Liquid Lipsticks – THESE LIPPIES! I have been raving about them for weeks (and pretty much every other beauty blogger who got them in PR has been, too) but I just love them so much. They have almost no transfer when they dry down (It passed the ultimate kiss test- I can kiss Teddy and not have any marks on his white fur.) They are also so, so comfortable on the lips and don’t feel dry, tight, or flakey. I haven’t worn anything else in a month and can’t wait for more shades to be released.
Skinnypop – Dustin and I have been eating low-carb/keto for two months now (more on how we got started and my current results here) and I’m learning that eating low-carb doesn’t mean I have to cut out all my favorite things. Skinnypop has become one of my favorite low-carb snacks and was a MUST for our trip to Moab. Even if you aren’t following a low-carb lifestyle, you should still pick it up on your next Costco run. It’s so, so tasty. And hey, if you need a movie to watch while snacking, I rounded up the 10 Best Rom-Coms on Netflix for you to watch!
Bose Over-The-Ear Wireless Headphones – Whooooph, this was a big splurge, but I decided that since I’ve been doing SO good at following my low-carb eating plan and have been consistently going to the gym for the last two months, I deserved a prize that would keep me motivated. I have a pair of Beats headphones that I’d been using at the gym, but the wire was SUCH a hassle. I kept getting it caught in gym equipment or ripping my phone off the treadmill. These wireless beats are LIFE changing when it comes to the gym and they deliver the most amazing sound quality. I actually look forward to going to the gym even more now that I have them – I had no clue just how life-changing it would be to workout without wires!

It’s been a crazy month, between Jeeping and working full-time, and getting things ready on the back end of my site for some changes. I’d love to hear what your favorite things were from February in the comments below!
