August Stitch Fix Review

I’ve been sitting on this post for a couple weeks; I was hoping to get it out before we moved, but alas, moving across the country is more exhausting then I even thought was possible. But, I’m super excited to bring you last month’s Stitch Fix review!
In case you missed it, Stitch Fix is a clothing subscription service. You fill out a profile, select your sizes and pay 20 dollars to have a stylist send you 5 hand-picked pieces to try on. You have 3 days to try on the clothes, and anything you like, you keep (with the 20 dollar style fee going towards the pieces you want to keep). You send back anything you don’t like at no fee to you!
I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Stitch Fix ever since I started trying it out. Most of the time, the pieces they send me are really fun and push me outside my normal styling choices and I like that I don’t have to spend hours in a store searching for clothes that fit right. However, there are times where the price point is too high for my comfort or the pieces they send me are just plain confusing. This last fix, I asked for some fall transition pieces and this is what they sent me:
Printed Top- $48.00 Initially, I really liked this top! I liked the colors and the print and could see it transitioning well into fall with a sweater. But, the cut was just a little off in the top; I felt like the arm holes were weirdly shaped. I am a little bummed I sent it back, but I know I made the right choice. Returned
Market & Spruce Corinna Striped Dolman Top – $48.00 Loved this, but I already own something super similar to it, so I couldn’t justify keeping it. Returned
Poncho- $48.00 –What even is this? Are ponchos seriously back in this season?! I felt like I was wearing a shapeless potato sack! The cut, the fit, the weirdy sleeves were just not my style at all and did not flatter my figure. Returned
Mo:Vint Chania Cardigan – $64.00 This sweater was super soft and comfy, but it was a little too light in color for me to want to wear in the cooler months. Also, not worth 64 dollars. Returned.
Octavia Henry Birds on Branch Infinity Scarf – $28.00 This scarf was fun and I liked the print! I have a ton of scarves already, but I kept this one to add to my huge six-month-blogiversary giveaway happening at the end of this month! So…stay tuned if you want to win it, along with a few of my other favorite things! Kept
So yes, not a total winner this month around, but the ideas were there style wise. I just need to request more flattering cuts for larger busts; hopefully the next fix will be more successful! And, if you already use Stitch Fix and saw something you like, be sure to pin it to your pinterest board!
