Why I Wear Make-up – Evian Facial Spray
Thank you to Evian, The Wilkes Group and Brandbacker for sponsoring this post today. All opinions are my own!
I first want to say that I am so much more then my cancer. I know I’ve been writing about it a lot lately. But, I would also be lying if I said that my cancer wasn’t a huge part of my life and who I am today. That being said, thank you to all who accept my stories of treatment and trauma with kindness and encouragement. This isn’t a blog about cancer, but this is a place for me to share what cancer has taught me and I so appreciate your understanding and receptiveness.
When I lost my eyelashes and eyebrows during my chemotherapy treatment, I vowed that when they grew back in someday, I would take care of them and embrace them and never take them for granted again. I liked to wear make-up when I was 16, but I didn’t care about what brands I used or what it looked like at the end of the day and I wasn’t too concerned if I didn’t wash my face at night. After going through chemo and then impatiently waiting for my eyelashes to come back and my face to fill back out, I decided to take my body a little more seriously and take care of it. After all, it did bring me through cancer, so I was grateful for the fight it put up.
That’s why I am so pro make-up these days. I want to embrace and appreciate my body by dressing it up, playing around with different looks and enjoying the eyelashes and full eyes and no-longer sunken cheeks! I don’t wear make-up for anyone else but myself. Putting on my make-up is a way I celebrate my second chance at life and a way to feel confident in the body that I once hated for betraying me.
One of the most frustrating things about spending the time to do my make-up in the morning is that by mid-day, half of it has come off! I was really excited when Evian sent me their Make-up Facial Spray to try out.
Evian is known mainly for their water, so I was a little confused at first when I realized they were sending me a beauty product! I had no idea that it was the first facial spray to be introduced in the United States and was used originally to treat burn victims. That means it has some good stuff in there! Evian Facial Spray has water that is tested 300 times per day to insure quality and the consistent unique mineral content!
I have tested out the Evian Facial Spray for the last two weeks and this is by far the best make-up setting spray I have used. Not even kidding. I love the way the spray is dispersed in a super fine mist, I love that it doesn’t have any wonky smells and I love that it goes on light and smooth. And, I LOVE what it does to my eyeshadows! I spray my brushes with the spray so they get nice and damp, dip into my eyeshadow and the color goes on creamy, smooth and BRIGHT! Plus, it lasts all day long!
The eyeshadow I used is L’Oreal’s Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush. Can you see the difference?! Seriously, it’s amazeballs.
Rosie gives her paw of approval! I have loved using this product and plan to keep using it over all make-up setting sprays I have tried before. I can now put the time into my make-up, show appreciate for my body and it’s fight by putting effort into taking care of it and not taking it for granted and not worry about my make-up fading by noon. I love wearing make-up and celebrating my body and the things it has overcome!
Why do you wear make up? Or why do you not? How do you celebrate your body and all the things it’s done for you?
