Five Favorite Products + Playlist – June

It’s been quite some time since I sat down and shared my favorite products as of late, so I’m stoked to be sharing some today. Since it has been so long, I can say that I’ve been using all of these products for over 2 months (minus my hat, which I just picked up) so I have really put these things to the test. I love trying new things out and sharing my thoughts because I know how overwhelming it can be to try to figure out what products to buy/put your money into. Hopefully, I can help out in that department just a bit!
I usually have a fail product to share as well, but I really couldn’t think of one this time around. I guess that’s a plus, right? Anyway, here are my five favorite products (+ a playlist, to makeup for not having a fail!) for June:
Five Favorite Products:
itCosmetics Bye Bye Makeup Melting Balm – I’ve always used the tried and true Neutrogena makeup wipes to take my makeup off at night, but over the last few months, I felt like they just weren’t cutting it anymore. My skin has had a hard time since moving to Utah and has been incredibly dry and the wipes seemed to be irritating it even more. Plus, they would always snag in my eyelash extensions when I tried to take off my eye makeup and pull them out. No fun.
I was so stoked when It Cosmetics sent me their Bye Bye Makeup Melting Balm because it looked like a product that might work better for me. It has not disappointed. This stuff literally melts my makeup right off my face when I softly rub it into my skin. After I wipe it off with some cotton rounds, my face feels SO moisturized and calm. Plus, this stuff is gentle on the eyes and easily takes off my eye-makeup without bothering my extensions at all. In fact, I think my extensions retention has gone up since switching to this product as my primary makeup remover.
Klorane Nourishing Mango Oil– I recently went through my fourth round of bleach to achieve the shade of blonde I wanted for summer. (FYI, it’s a process to go from dark to blonde and your hairdresser should never try to do it in one sitting because it will ruin your hair.) Thankfully, my hairdresser is amazing, told me it would be a process so I knew I would have to go back a few times, and slowly lifted my hair over the last few months so it wouldn’t fry or fall out. That being said, putting bleach on my hair that consistently has dried my ends out quite a bit, so this leave-in spray has been essential to adding moisture and shine back to my hair.
Not only does this product smell AMAZING, I love that it’s SUPER light. It doesn’t make my hair feel greasy or weighed down at all. It adds the right amount of shine and silkiness without being heavy and still gives my hair a great texture. Klorane for the win!
Monat Volume Line – I did a complete review on Monat a few months ago and wanted to give an update on how I feel about it. After trying Monat for two weeks, I went back to my regular shampoo and conditioner because I wanted to finish it before buying new bottles. I then switched exclusively to Monat about two months ago and let me tell you-I’m never going back. Before Monat, I had to wash my hair every other day because I’d be a greasy mess by the afternoon of day two. Now, I kid you not, I can go 4-5 days without washing my hair. It stays clean and holds its style for days without getting greasy. I don’t have to use dry shampoo until day four if I want to get to day five. Not only does this shampoo keep my hair cleaner for longer, it saves my color (because I’m not washing it as much) and it has made my hair feel stronger and healthier as well. I’m smitten by this hair line. It’s a little more expensive up front, but since I’m washing less I’m actually saving money in the long run because I don’t have to repurchase as frequently. If you want more information on Monat, check out Monat’s website or message my hair gal, Alexis, on Instagram!
Do Not Disturb Hat – I’ve been seeing so many cute sunhats with clever/sassy sayings around Instagram and Pinterest and really wanted one to wear out to the pool. I found some cute ones on Amazon, but 20 dollars seemed a tiny bit pricey. So, I was thrilled to discover the cutest black sunhat with the words “Do Not Disturb” scrawled across it at Walmart for under $10.00! I got to wear it to Seven Peaks Resort last weekend when I took over their snapchat with some blogging friends and it was the perfect accessory for a day in the sun.
Retro Sunglasses – I’ve been really wanting to get my hands on some cute retro sunnies, but the ones I’ve been wanting are a bit pricey. I don’t know about you, but I tend to loose sunglasses pretty frequently, so I try not to spend more than 20-30 dollars TOPS on sunnies. So, I was thrilled when I found these cutsie things on Amazon for under 10 bucks. They come in a bunch of different lens colors and they don’t feel cheap or flimsy! They held up during my day at the water park last weekend.
