June Goals
How is almost half of the year over? I can’t believe it. I feel like it was just yesterday that Dustin and I were celebrating the new year in Idaho and dreaming of our moving day to California to come. Now we’ve been in California for almost two months and nearing the end of our stint hear and nearing our next move: Arizona! I’m not going to lie, May was a rough month for me. Between some health issues, struggling with some anxiety and a job that was draining me, I didn’t accomplish much of my May goals. I read 5 books instead of 8, made it to the gym a total of 5 times instead of my goal of 12 and didn’t get a vlog done. I did exceed my goal of Bloglovin’ followers (135) and ended the month with 140 and I have blog post ideas scheduled out for almost the whole month, so there’s that.
I’m ready for June. I just quit my job so I could better my health and work on my blog full time. I’m ready to take it on!
Health: Go to Gym 3X a Week: I’m putting this on the list again and I’m ready to tackle it and I’ve already been on top of it! Dustin and I have started swimming laps and it’s become my favorite way to work out because it works all of my muscles without putting stress on my knee/hip.
Read: Read 7 Books this Month: I’ve got a few audio books to listen to in the car and bought a BUNCH of beautiful books at Powell’s City of Books when we were in Oregon on Memorial Day. I’m going to allow myself one tv show a day and then spend the rest of the time reading so I can catch up on my reading goal!
Blog: Post 5 Times a Week: (starting next week, since I didn’t post yesterday). This week has been about getting my feet on the ground, organizing myself with social media and posts and running a bunch of errands that I have put off forever. Starting next week, my schedule will go into effect and now that I’m a full time blogger, there is no excuse for not posting every day!
Blog: Work on Instagram: Instagram is quickly becoming my favorite social media platform and I want to continue to grow it. My Instagram feed has become it’s own entity; 90% of the photos I post there I don’t post any where else. I’m currently at 705 followers and I’d love to end the month at 760. Hefty goal? For sure. If you feel like helping a girl out, you can follow me here.
Personal: Cut Phone Screen Time: I’m glued to my phone all of the time and I justify it because I’m a blogger. However, I need to be better about putting my phone away when I’m interacting with other people. I’ve found that I use my phone as a shield when I’m uncomfortable in a social situation or am struggling to carry a conversation. I’m going to leave my phone in the car every time Dustin takes me out for a date, I’m going to get out of bed and take a shower every morning before checking my phone and I’m going to put my phone away at least 20 minutes before I turn the lights out to go to bed at night. Small steps, but I’m hoping it will help me not be so rude towards others.
What are your goals for this month? Any tips for me on how to continue to grow my Instagram account or stay motivated to keep going to the gym? Seriously, if you have any tips, I’ll take ’em!
Excited for this month, friends. I’m not going to let it beat me like May did.
